Ernest Urtasun, co-spokesperson of the Federation of Young European Greens has been elected as a member of the Bureau of the European Youth Forum on 10th of November 2006 at the General Assembly of the Youth Forum in Vilnius, Lithuania. He achieved the highest voting score of all candidates.
Ska Keller, spokeswoman of FYEG, says: “We congratulate Ernest for his great success. Ernest is the first FYEG representative to enter the YF Bureau and we see this as a step further in our involvement in the YF.
Ernest Urtasun adds: “The Youth Forum is the umbrella organisation for youth organisations in Europe and as such also of importance for FYEG. Within the YF I want to ensure that main green topics such as environmental protection and gender equality will play a significant role in YF’s work.”
Ernest Urtasun has been co-spokesperson since 2005, before that he spent one year as EU affairs coordinator of FYEG.
The European Youth Forum is made up of more than 90 National Youth Councils and International Non-Governmental Youth Organisations. It brings together tens of millions of young people from all over Europe.
