Meet the Irish Young Greens

Oige Ghlas / Irish Young Greens were officially set up in March 2002 from several young environmental groups all over Ireland. We are the youth branch of the national Green Party / Comhaontas Glas and have about 800 members so far this year.

Our second National Convention was held at the end of November at which, after much discussion, a political platform and manifesto was produced. Our organisation aims to facilitate its members with local and national campaigns, projects and gatherings on environmental, political and social issues of interest and concern.

We have a vision for a different Ireland, one that cherishes its environment and society as much as the economy. This vision is for the young people of today to realise an innovative, caring and sustainable country to be truly proud of in the twenty first century.
We are really looking forward to meeting many new international friends and contacts through future FYEG gatherings and projects! Nollaig Shona Duit (Happy Christmas!)
