The boat `Marina` on Danube river in Belgrade welcomed members of Green Youth and their guests. The first congress took place in very pleasant atmosphere.
The first part of our work was devoted to discussing amendments and adopting youth Charter, which specifies our work and aims we want to achieve.
Following this important process, elections for new board members took place by a secret vote. The new board members are: Ivan Tomasovic, Veljko Karadzic, Marija Stankovic, Ivan Petrovic, Srdjan Antic, Mirko Ugrinov, Ivana Vujadinovic and Stevan Petrovic.
Our Agenda for 2003 will aim at the spreading of our organization, taking a more active role in our political life, editing a publication on environmental problems in our country with possible solutions for them and media cooperation. We also discussed how we could support actions planned by the FYEG specially Migrations in Europe since we are directly nvolved in this problem.
The Congress (because of minimal financial resources) lasted only one day although it was very successful.
All present had to put a lot of effort, to take active participation and to keep their concentration on a high level – giving their opinions, suggestions…
Nevertheless we managed to fulfill our goals-had first congress, formed youth’s structure, adopted Charter, elected main board, and made plans for next year. This enables us to focus our work in future on political promotion of green and environmental ideas.
